Let's dive right in!

Using the Overview section

The Overview section is the first thing you'll see when entering the Analytics page. It gives you a snapshot of your most important metrics.

These include the number of Bookings, Waitlisted parties, and Served parties for the chosen time period. You can also see the Average wait times, Drop-off rate, and Messages sent. For more in-depth explanation of these metrics, please see our Using the Analytics Overview article.

Understanding the charts

There are a number of different charts at your disposal in the new Analytics. Some of them may differ depending on how your business is set up and if you use the Waitlist, Bookings, or both.

Here's a quick breakdown of all the charts.

  • Traffic: A trend over time of the number of waitlisted parties, bookings, served parties, and drop-off.

  • Visit distribution: A heatmap of when visits most typically occur, broken out by weekday and hour of day.

  • Line length: A trend over time of the average length of the waitlist and the longest length of the waitlist.

  • Drop-off: A pie chart showing the breakdown of the number of dropped off visits.

  • Customer distribution: A pie chart breaking down the number of new vs returning visits.

  • Customer: A funnel chart showing the breakdown of number of people, number of parties, and the number of unique contacts within the time frame selected.

  • Visits: A bar chart summarizing visits by different breakdowns.

  • Registration details: A bar chart summarizing where customer signups happened and whether your staff or the customer themselves added them.

  • Average durations: A chart summarizing the average durations for various steps in the customer flow.

  • Wait & serve durations: A chart showing the frequency of waitlisted and served visits by different duration increments.

  • Drop-off by waitlist position: A chart showing the frequency and rate of no-shows based on how long the line was when they first entered it.

  • Customer path: A customer flow chart showing the path of visits through the steps in Waitwhile.

We unpack all these graphs in greater detail in this article - Understanding the Analytics Charts.

Visualizing and customizing information

You can very easily select what information you'd like to see on the Analytics page, and how you'd like to see it.

  • The Display settings allow you to set what information you want displayed for each visit

  • The Filter enables you to choose which specific visits you want to see.

  • The Date range picker lets you set the time frame for all graphs and tables.

In this article, we dig deeper into how you can use these tools to truly customize your Waitwhile Analytics experience.

Exporting data from the Analytics page
