Waitwhile makes it easy for guests to share their visit status with others in their group using the Share with your party feature. Whether attending as a family, group of friends, or colleagues, this feature ensures everyone stays in the loop without needing multiple sign-ups or messages.

What is the share with your party feature?

The Share with Your Party option allows a guest who has joined a waitlist or booked an appointment to send their real-time visit status - including estimated wait time, check-in details, and any updates - to others in their group. This can be especially useful when:

  • A group is arriving separately and wants to track progress.

  • Someone needs to step away but still wants updates.

  • A guest wants to keep others informed without forwarding each message manually.

How It Works

Once a guest has joined the waitlist or booked an appointment:

  1. They’ll receive a confirmation link via SMS or email (based on how your business has messaging set up).

  2. On the Status page, they’ll see an option to Share with your party.

3. Tapping this will open sharing options (e.g., copying the link, sharing via text, email, or social apps).

  4. Anyone with the shared link can view the visit status in real time—no login required.

Note: Share with your party works on mobile devices only. If you are using the QR code for check-in, this QR code can only be used one (1) time per party, so make sure your group is together when it is time to check-in.

What information gets shared?

Individuals that receive the shared page (e.g. via SMS) will receive a link to the Status Page which includes:

  • Business name and location

  • Guest’s place in line or appointment time

  • Real-time updates (e.g., when they’re next in line or ready to be served)

  • Any custom messages you’ve set up for visit status

Warning: If you allow customers that register to edit their details. Anyone that receives the Share with your party message will also be able to edit the customer details.

Why use this feature?

  • Reduce confusion: Everyone in the party can monitor timing.

  • Improve experience: Guests feel more informed and connected.

  • Fewer questions for staff: Cuts down on group members asking for updates separately.

How to enable this feature

By default, the Share with Your Party option is disabled in Waitwhile. If you'd like to enable it, you can do so by:

  1. Go to Customer actions

  2. Enable Allow customers to edit their details
