The Status Page in Waitwhile offers customers an easy way to track their status while waiting. When a customer joins a waitlist or books an appointment, they receive a personalized status page. This page shows key details such as:

  • Current wait time

  • Position in line

  • Booking status

How the customer Status Page works

Once a customer joins your waitlist or books an appointment, they’ll automatically receive a notification that includes a link to their Status Page. This page allows customers to track their place in line or view the status of their appointment, helping to reduce uncertainty and minimize inquiries to your staff.

Customers will see real-time updates, so if their place in line changes, the status page will reflect that immediately. This helps manage expectations and provides customers with a sense of control over their waiting experience.

Key Information Displayed on the Status Page

The Status Page is customizable, allowing businesses to control what details are shown. The page has the capability to show the following information:

  • Wait Time: An estimated wait time that updates as the queue moves.

  • Position in Line: A clear indication of where the customer stands in the queue.

  • Customer Actions: If applicable, customers can:

    • Waitlist: Mark themselves as arrived, inform staff that they are delayed, or remove themselves from the waitlist directly from the status page.

    • Bookings: Confirm their booking, check-in, cancel, or reschedule directly from the status page.

  • Business Messages: Optional custom messages or instructions can be included to keep customers informed about any changes or requirements before their turn.

  • Give Directions: Add your address to settings > location details > location address and google maps will give customers directions to your location.

  • Display the current Waitlist: Similar to your TV display, give customers a way of viewing the public waitlist on their own mobile device.

Customizing the Status Page

You can tailor the information displayed on the Status Page based on your business preferences. To customize this page:

  1. Navigate to Settings in your Waitwhile dashboard.

  2. Under Customer Journey, select Waitlist or Bookings depending on the status page you want to customize

  3. Modify the settings based on the type of information you want to share with your customers (e.g., wait times, queue position, and customer actions).

These customization options allow you to enhance the guest experience, ensuring that customers have all the necessary information while waiting.

How to send customers to the Status Page

You can send the Status Page to customers automatically when they join your waitlist or book an appointment through their own mobile device or desktop computer via the browser. We also recommend sending customers their personalized link via SMS or email once they add themselves to a waitlist or book an appointment.

To configure your messages with the status link, go to settings > Customer Messages and add in variable placeholder {link} .

Benefits of the Status Page

  • Reduced Inquiries: By providing guests with live updates, they won’t need to call or ask staff about their wait time.

  • Increased Transparency: Real-time information about their place in line helps customers feel more in control.

  • Improved Customer Experience: Guests are less likely to feel frustrated when they have clear visibility of their wait status.
