[New Settings] How to configure the Waitlist display

Configuration options to customize the Waitlist display in your lobby, waiting area, or service center.

Waitwhile offers several public display options to help businesses manage customer queues and enhance the customer experience. These displays provide real-time information to customers about their place in line, estimated wait times, and important updates.

The Waitlist display

The waitlist display shows customers the current line and their position in the queue, which is ideal for keeping customers informed and reducing anxiety about wait times.

Customize your display

Waitwhile allows you to tailor your waitlist display to match your brand and provide the best experience for your visitors. You can customize the layout, colors, fonts, and background to align with your business’s style, ensuring a professional and engaging look. Additionally, you can choose which information to display—such as customer names, estimated wait times, or current status—giving you full control over the level of transparency shown on the screen.

Configure the information you want to display

Go to Location settings > Customer Journey > Public displays. to see the full list of configurations for your Waitlist display.

  • Customer identifier: Select how customers will be identified on the waitlist

  • Additional customer details: Choose additional details to display on your waitlist

  • Show estimated wait time remaining: Enable this configuration is you wish to display the estimated wait time remaining until the customer should be served. The time remaining is based on your wait time estimation.

  • Page Options:

    • Show total number of people waiting: Enable this configuration if you want to show the total number of parties waiting.

    • Show "Join waitlist" button: Check the box if you want to allow customers to join from the this waitlist display. Often times this will be used if you are displaying your waitlist on a public URL where other people can then register to join.

    • Include in Waitlist overview: Enable this configuration if you want to display your waitlist on the Waitlist Overview page (also called All Locations Page / Location Directory)

    • Play sound when alerted: Enable this configuration if you want to call attention to when a customer is alerted. Learn more.

Configuring your waitlist display options in Waitwhile is designed to improve transparency, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce the perceived wait time by keeping customers informed.
