Single Sign-On (SSO) makes logging into Waitwhile faster and more secure—but if something isn’t set up correctly, users may run into login errors. This guide walks you through the most common causes of SSO issues and how to fix them, so your team can get back to work without delays.

1. Ensure email domain consistency

All users signing in via SSO must have an email address that matches the domain(s) configured in your Identity Provider (IdP).

Example:
If your IdP is configured for @company.com, a user with the email jane.doe@company.org will not be able to authenticate.

Tip: Double-check your IdP domain settings and confirm the user's email matches the expected domain.

2. Use the correct email address in Waitwhile

The email address the user enters during login must match exactly what is stored in the IdP. This can sometimes be case-sensitive, depending on your IdP's configuration.

Check for:

  • Typos

  • Uppercase/lowercase inconsistencies

  • Mismatched aliases (e.g. j.doe@company.com vs. jane.doe@company.com)

3. Whitelist the SAML app for all users

Just enabling SSO in your IdP (like Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace) isn’t enough. You must explicitly assign users to the Waitwhile SAML app in your IdP dashboard.

Action Required:
Ensure all users who need access are granted permissions or assigned the app in the IdP. Without this step, login attempts will fail.

4. Communicate clearly to end users

Users should know how to log in via SSO — especially if they were previously using password-based logins.

When signing in to Waitwhile:

  • Navigate to your branded login page (if applicable)

  • Click on “Login with SSO” instead of entering a password

  • Enter the appropriate work email address

Consider sharing a short internal guide or email template with your team outlining this process.

Note: Waitwhile currently supports SAML-based SSO for Enterprise plans.

  • If you're still encountering issues, feel free to reach out to our support team with:

    • The email address affected

    • The name of your IdP

    • Any relevant error messages or logs
