We’re making important updates to Waitwhile's plans and how messaging works. This article explains what’s changing, when it takes effect, and how it may apply to your account.
1. SMS message credits are moving to pay-as-you-go
Starting with your first renewal after June 16, 2025, SMS message credits will no longer be included by default in any Waitwhile plan.
We’ve long planned this shift to better align with actual usage and fairness across our customers — and it allows us to keep base plan pricing competitive while continuing to invest in new free communication options like email and push notifications (with even more to come!).
What do I need to do?
If you want to continue using SMS, you will need to enable auto-refill to purchase and add credits to your account. Simply follow the steps in our guide or go to Account settings > Plan & Billing > Auto-refill.
If you do not want to use SMS, you can still enable and use email and push notifications to communicate with your customers and staff.
Email notifications are included in all plans and support full customization of message content, including conditional logic and dynamic fields for personalization.
Push notifications for team members are supported in browser and on mobile. They are free to use and Ideal for waitlist updates, appointment confirmations, and reminders. You can easily enable and manage them in your Notification settings. We are also making it increasingly easier to use push notifications to communicate with your customers. Stay tuned for more information.

2. New pricing and limits for self-serve subscriptions
Beginning June 16, we’re also introducing updated visit and location limits for our paid, self-serve plans, with the intention of simplifying our pricing. Now, both Starter and Business plan subscriptions will allow for up to 10 locations and a set number of monthly visits which vary by plan.
View the pricing model below to see updated pricing and volume limit details.
Plan | Price per location (billed monthly) | Price per location (billed annually) | Monthly visit limit (per location) | Max locations | Max visits per month |
Free | $0/mo | $0/mo | 50 | 1 | 50 |
Starter | $39/mo | $31/mo | 250 | 10 | 2,500 |
Business | $69/mo | $55/mo | 500 | 10 | 5,000 |
Do these plan changes affect me?
Existing customers: Your current plan pricing and limits will remain the same so long as you do not change your plan. You are able to increase or decrease the number of locations or visits you need on your current plan, as per usual, until you change to a new plan. Should you elect to upgrade or downgrade your plan after June 16, the new pricing and limits will apply.
New customers signing up after June 16: Upgrading to a paid plan will require selection from our new plans.
