Note: Labels is a feature available on our Enterprise plan.

In Account overview, we are introducing labels as a new and flexible tool to manage, segment, and organize all your locations, users, and data in one account with ease. In other words, labels help you categorize your locations.

There are many ways in which you can benefit from using labels, including:

  • Replicate your organizational structure in Waitwhile by adding labels for regions, districts, cities, or other geographical areas. In doing so, you can easily group your locations by area. For example, you can set up a label with the name "City" and add values such as "New York", "Los Angeles", and "San Francisco".

  • Create categories for different kinds of customer experiences (e.g. one-off events vs ongoing bookings), if they differ between locations. This will enable you to perform actions depending on the locations' specific use cases.

What labels are and how they work

Labels have two components: Label name and label value. Only one label value can exist per one location. If you add or choose a new label value to a location, the previous one will be overwritten.

Labels cannot exist on their own - they need to be attached to at least one location. This is the reason why a label cannot be created in a vacuum, but rather from a location. If a label is removed from all locations, it will be removed in its entirety.

Similarly, if you remove all values from a label, the label will be deleted completely.

Create labels and values

  1. From your Account overview page, go to Locations

    1. Do NOT click Label in the top right corner just yet

  2. Find a location that you want to add a label to

  3. Click More actions on that location

  4. Click Label in the dropdown

  5. Add a label name and value to the location

  6. To add multiple labels, click Create label

  7. Click Save to create the label and its value

  8. The label will now show up as a column in your list of locations, with the value displayed for that location

If you want to create a label that should be added to multiple locations, or assign an existing label to more locations, use the bulk update option by following these steps:

  1. On the Locations page, select the locations that you want the label to be added to by using the check boxes next to the locations

  2. Click Label in the bar at the bottom of your screen

  3. Enter a name and value for the label (or just a value, if the label already exists)

  4. To add multiple labels, click + Create label

  5. Click Add to save the label assignment

To view all your existing labels, click Labels in the top corner.

Note: Currently, the maximum number of labels per account is 10.

Edit or delete labels and values

You can easily edit both the names and values of labels. To change the name of a label, click Labels in the top corner of your Locations page, which will take you to the Location labels page. Then, simply choose the label you want to update and change the name in the input field. Remember to click Save before leaving the page.

From the Edit label page, you can also remove values associated with that label by clickingDelete on the chip of the value you wish to delete.

Note: If you delete the last remaining value attached to a label, the label will also be deleted.

To completely delete the label, click Delete in the top right corner of the page.

It is possible to also update the values of labels. This can be done by repeating the steps from how to create a new label.

  1. Find a location that has the label assigned

  2. Click More actions on that location

  3. Click Label in the dropdown

  4. Update the value

  5. Click Save to for the changes to go through

This change will be reflected across all locations with this label and value assigned.
