Converting a waitlist spot to a booking allows guests to easily create a booking from a waitlist visit without having to reenter their information. This ensures that guests who may find the wait too long can schedule an appointment instead of leaving, minimizing the risk of losing potential customers.
Benefits
Reduce walkaways: Guests can convert their waitlist spot into a booking, reducing the number of customers who leave due to long waits.
Enhanced customer experience: Provides a seamless and consistent experience for users with both waitlist and booking services activated.
Improved sales and conversion rates: Increases the likelihood of retaining customers and securing bookings.
How to enable the feature
From your Location settings, go to Location settings > Customer journey > Waitlist
Scroll down to Customization and toggle on Allow customer to convert their visit to booking in the Status page section
How guests can convert their waitlist visits to bookings
This feature will be visible to your guests in three different ways.
As a button on the waitlist status page
As a popup displayed when the customer asks to leave the waitlist
As a popup displayed when the customer is marked as a no-show
Enabling this feature will activate all the options listed above. However, it only applies to services that can be scheduled as bookings in addition to being waitlisted. For services that are only available via waitlists, these options will not be shown.
Convert visit from the waitlist status page
When the feature is toggled on, your guests will see a new option on the waitlist status page - Convert to booking.
Clicking on Convert to booking will open a dialoge box, allowing the guest to convert their visit to a booking. When they do so, they enter a booking flow with all their previously entered information saved and ready to go.
Convert to booking when trying to leave the waitlist
The other way a guest can convert their waitlisted visit into a booking is presented to them when they ask to leave the waitlist, triggered by the Leave waitlist button.
Upon clicking on Leave waitlist, the guest now receives a prompt asking them if they would like to make an appointment rather than just leaving the waitlist. If they choose to create a booking, they will enter a booking flow with all their previously submitted information already entered.
Convert to booking after having no-showed
Lastly, this feature also enables your customers to create a new booking if they have been marked as a no-show.
Customizing the feature
You can of course configure the terms you use in this feature to fit your business' unique needs. Simply go to Location settings > Location > Localization > Terms > Customer journey terms and click on the different sections to update the wording you want.
