Make check-in fast, simple, and contactless by enabling QR code check-in through Waitwhile. Instead of staff searching for a name or phone for an upcoming appointment or visit on a waitlist, staff can scan a unique QR code to check a customer in. It’s a seamless way to manage high traffic volumes, reduce bottlenecks, and deliver a smoother experience from the moment the customer arrives.
How It Works:
When someone joins your queue, they receive a link to their unique Status Page via SMS or email.
You can enable a QR code on this Status Page, which staff can scan at the event for faster check-in.

Speeds up the customer flow during peak times.
Can create contactless experience.
How to Set It Up:
Go to your Location Settings in Waitwhile.
Navigate to Arrivals > QR Serve
Enable the setting for bookings and/or waitlist
Customize the action when scanning the QR code:
Open in Staff Experience - Opens the guests visit in the staff experience so that staff can confirm details and serve the customer with a single click. This is Waitwhile's recommended option for events.
Serve in Staff Experience - Automatically serve the customer without requiring the staff to verify the customer details. With this configuration you can determine when customers can check-in for bookings (e.g. 5 minutes before and 10 minutes after the booking has started).
How serve using the QR code
Make sure the mobile device your staff is using to check customers in is logged into the Waitwhile platform
To start scanning, click the
icon in the upper right corner. This will open the devices camera
Scan the customer QR code. Depending on how you have the scan action configured, this will either initiate the customer visit to open or automatically serve the customer.
