Configuring SMS registration

You can fully manage SMS registration settings directly from your Location Settings, giving you control over how customers interact with your waitlist via text messages. This includes customizing trigger words, auto-replies, and service-specific SMS commands, all from an easy-to-use interface.

Accessing SMS registration settings

  1. Go to Location Settings in your account.

  2. Navigate to Registration > SMS Registration.

  3. Here, you can manage all SMS registration options for your location.

Managing general SMS registration

In the General SMS Registration section, you can:

  • Enable or disable SMS registration for your location.

  • Set a custom trigger word for joining the waitlist (e.g., “BOOK”, “RESERVE”, “QUEUE” instead of the default “JOIN”).

  • Choose the action when a customer texts the trigger word:

    • Add the customer to the waitlist automatically

    • Respond with a custom message

  • Customize the messages sent to customers when they interact via SMS.

Custom trigger words for customer actions

You can define custom trigger words for different customer actions during their journey, including:

  • Arrival notifications

  • Cancellations

  • Other touchpoints throughout the waitlist process

Custom trigger words for Services and Resources

For locations offering multiple services or resources, you can assign unique trigger words for each service. Customers can text these words to join a specific queue, ensuring they are routed to the correct service automatically.

You can do that by going to Location settings > Registration > SMS Registration > Service/Resource triggers.

Steps:

  • You can assign an alias to any Service or Resource.

  • Guests can then join by texting the alias (e.g. “service 1”) — or include their name for a personalized check-in (e.g. “Join Anna service 1”).

Note: To use this feature, make sure each Service or Resource has an alias set on its object. This alias is what guests will reference when they text to join.
