To help you better manage your SMS budget and understand your messaging habits, Waitwhile now offers a Message Credit Usage Report. This report provides a detailed breakdown of how many message credits you've used over a selected time period β€” helping you plan ahead and estimate future costs with confidence.

What Is the Message Credit Usage Report?

The Message Credit Usage Report shows you:

  • Total message credits used during a selected date range

  • Breakdown of usage by location (if applicable)

  • Number of messages sent

  • Average message length (in segments)

  • Message cost

This report is perfect for reviewing historical usage, forecasting future credit needs, and ensuring your message budget aligns with your business activity.

How to Access and Pull the Report

  1. Log in to your Waitwhile Account

  2. Navigate to Account Overview

    • In the left-hand avatar menu, go to Account overview.

    • Click on Account settings > Plan & Billing.

  3. Click the Usage Report

  4. Select your preferred date range and click Download CSV. This will populate an exported .csv file for your viewing.

Using the Report to Estimate Costs

Once you have your report, you can estimate your SMS costs using the total message credits used and your current cost per message credit.

Example:

  • Total credits used last month: 8,500

  • Your SMS credit rate: $0.02 per message credit

  • Estimated cost: 8,500 Γ— $0.02 = $170

This can help you plan your next message credit purchase and forecast expenses for high-traffic periods.

How to Reduce Message Credit Usage

Here are a few ways to keep your SMS costs efficient:

  • Shorten your messages to use fewer segments

  • Use Email for non-urgent follow-ups when possible

Note: The available historical data for this report differs by subscription plan.

  • Starter plan: 90-day historical look back

  • Business plan: 365-day historical look back

  • Enterprise plan: 2-year historical look back
