Thousands of health professionals rely on Waitwhile to improve their patient services. Here are a few tips for how you can use it at your clinic or office.

Scenario: Notify your patient's family during and after surgery

Setup:

  • Under Settings > SMS, turn on the "Served SMS" and "Completed SMS". The former will be sent when the surgery is completed and the latter when they can visit so change their texts accordingly.

  • Under Settings > Team, add your surgeons as "staff".  If you include their phone or email you can automatically notify them when a patient is waiting for them.

Flow:

  1. Add a patient to your waitlist. Include the phone number to the family and assign the patient to the serving surgeon.

  2. Add a patient to your waitlist. Include the phone number to the family and assign the patient to the serving surgeon.

  3. The surgeon will be notified that a patient is waiting for them.

  4. When it's the patients turn, check him or her off the waitlist. This will automatically notify the family that they are taken into surgery. The patient will be moved to the Serving page.

  5. When the surgery is complete, check the patient off the Serving page. This will automatically notify the family that the surgery is completed and that they can now come visit the patient (if applicable).

Benefits:

  • Makes it easy to automatically keep the family informed during this stressful period.

  • Records useful analytics about the wait time, serving time and other metrics to help you improve your operations.
